Asphalt Overlay & Resurfacing
A fresh layer of asphalt over an existing, worn surface — the right call when the base is still sound but the top layer has had it.

Not every worn-out driveway or lot needs to be torn out and replaced. If the sub-base underneath is still solid — no major sinking, no widespread structural failure — an overlay lets us pave a fresh, smooth surface directly over the existing asphalt at a fraction of the cost and time of full removal and replacement.
The key is knowing when an overlay is the right call versus when it isn't. An overlay over a failing base just telegraphs the same cracks and dips back through the new surface within a year or two. We check the condition of what's underneath before recommending one.

Surface Evaluation
The existing pavement and base are inspected to confirm an overlay is structurally appropriate.

Crack & Pothole Repair
Any significant cracking or potholes are repaired first so they don't reflect through the new layer.

Cleaning & Prep
The surface is cleaned and, if needed, leveled to correct minor low spots.

Tack Coat
A bonding layer is applied so the new asphalt adheres to the existing surface.

Overlay Paving & Compaction
A new layer of hot-mix asphalt is paved and compacted to the correct thickness and grade.
Signs You Need Asphalt Overlay & Resurfacing
- Surface cracking and wear across a large area, but no major sinking or heaving
- A driveway or lot that looks tired but the base still feels solid underfoot
- You want a full replacement look without full-depth reconstruction cost
- Existing pavement is more than 15-20 years old but structurally intact
Why C&M
- Lower Cost Than Replacement:An overlay skips full excavation and base rebuilding when the base doesn't need it.
- Faster Turnaround:Less demolition means less time before the surface is ready to use.
- Full Cosmetic Reset:A fresh, smooth, uniform surface with none of the old wear showing through.
- Right-Sized for the Problem:We only recommend an overlay when the base actually supports it.
